When to use each
- Use clarifying when the issue is general residue: heavy styling products, silicone buildup, that "my hair feels coated" moment. Once every week or two is plenty.
- Use chelating when the issue is specifically hard water (the sticky-then-dry feel, the dullness) or metal deposits (green or brassy tint after pools). A pH-balanced chelating shampoo can handle regular hard-water washing without the over-stripping a clarifier risks.
- You can use both: chelating as your everyday hard-water shampoo, a clarifier now and then for a deeper product reset.
